It snowed. In London, this amount of snow would send the whole city into panic mode. Here, it's merely an inconvenient dusting you have to brush off your windshield before you can drive. I always laughed at the Brits and their inability to cope, but I've missed London a lot this month.
I really need to work on making myself a schedule and filling my time on the days I don't get called to teach. Yoga and reading, sure, but I should really get back into writing and I'd like to learn some new skills.
Quick question for you all:
Has anyone learned how to code and/or develop on platforms like WordPress via (preferably free) online courses? Any recommendations?

- This is a hilarious dissection of Every TV Christmas Rom Com Ever.
- A great info post on how to host images, find people and things, etc. related to DW. (I've chosen Mediafire.)
- Yonatan Zunger posted a tweetstorm followed by an article version explaining why this new, ridiculous claim the "Nazi" is a fucking slur is completely offside.

There are a lot of really thoughtful remarks made by UK artists in this piece about the music industry. In particular, I appreciated their insistence that 'breaking America' isn't the be-all and end-all of success as an artist and that as long as you're selling out gigs and people are listening, you're doing well for yourself. This idea that you have to have a #1 single and a #1 album and huge stadium tours to be considered successful is crazy to me. Some of my all-time favourite artists never tour stadiums or win grammys, or they started out super indie, and I still love them with all my heart. Shout out to Tegan & Sara and Lucy Rose. ♥ For smaller/less mainstream popular artists like that I will buy their albums and go to their shows. I've seen T&S three times and saw Lucy Rose last autumn, and I've bought all their albums over the years.
